A GOOD NAME!

A Good Name (Proverbs 22:1) You got it from your father, It was all he had to give. So it’s yours to use and cherish, For as long as you may live. If you lose the watch he gave you, It can always be replaced. But a black mark on your name, son, Can never be erased. It was clean the day you took it, And a worthy name to bear. When he got it from his father, There was no dishonor there. So make sure you guard it wisely, After all is said and done. You’ll be glad the name is spotless, When you give it to your son. anon

IS BIBLE THE WORD OF GOD?

IS BIBLE THE WORD OF  GOD? Though Christians believe the Bible is the Word of God, it is obvious that the world as a whole does not pay attention to what the Bible says. So why should we pay attention to what the Bible says? WHAT IS FAITH? Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.   So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Heb. 11:1; Romans 10:17 NKJV A study of the Bible not only provides an object of faith, something to believe in, but gives us many reasons why we should believe what the Bible states. The answer to why we believe the Bible involves many facts that together provide an intelligent basis for believing the Bible to be a supernatural statement of truth. The Bible itself claims to be a supernatural book that God produced through human authors. THE BIBLE INSPIRED OF THE HOLY SPIRIT The Writers of the Bible do not claim to be men of supernatural knowledge, they freely admit that God is the source of their informat

The Kingdom of Christ.

The Kingdom of Christ. Read this: Luke 1:26-33.  Intro. 1.  OT predicted a king ruling over insurmountable kingdom:  Psa. 2:6-7; 110:1-3; 132:11; Isa. 9:6-7; Dan. 2:44; 7:13-14; Lk. 1:30-33. 2.   Many do not believe the kingdom of Christ was established during NT times or that it exists today.  They look and pray for a kingdom to come.   a.   Kingdom: “Sovereignty, royal power, dominion...a realm”; “the territory subject to the rule of a king.”   b.   Either His kingdom exists today or it does not; Either Jesus, as King, is sovereign ruler over His kingdom today, or He is not. 3.   The presence of the kingdom of Christ is real and forever changes the life of the person who enters it (Heb. 12:28).   1.  Jesus announced the approach of the kingdom.   -Matt. 4:17:  Coming kingdom was “at hand” (near, close, Matt. 6:18, 46; 2 Tim. 4:6) – Lk. 10:9.   -Matt. 12:28:  Presence of the Spirit of God = Kingdom set before them (Isa. 11:2; 42:1).   2.  Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom.   -M

ARE ALL WHO ARE BAPTIZED CHRISTIANS?

ARE ALL WHO ARE BAPTIZED CHRISTIANS?   In every example of New Testament conversion people were baptized for remission of sins.  "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) One cannot be a Christian without being baptized but not all who have been baptized are Christians. Why would this be true?  Many that have been baptized have not been baptized as accountable people. Baptism is an act of submission that must come from the heart. "But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered." (Romans 6:17) Baptizing babies is no more Bible baptism than it would be for several strong men to baptize adults against their will. Babies have no sin and therefore do not need baptism and certainly could not be baptized as a voluntary act of obedience.  Many that have been baptized
