*THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.* BENSON OMOLE Min. *INTRODUCTION.* Blood is the life-giving fluid of the body. Though in the OT it is regarded as the seat of life, but since shed blood signifies death, then the word is used of both death and life. (Gen 9:4-6). The Bible regards blood as the symbol and source of life. Lev. 17:14 says "…for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, 'You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.' (NKJV). *BLOOD PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.* On the first Passover in Exodus 12:1-13, the blood of a lamb was posted on the top and sides of each door frame as a sign that death had already taken place, so the Angel of Death would pass over. Once a year on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), the high priest would enter the Holy of Holies to offer a blood sacrifice to atone for the sins of the people. The b
