IS THERE A MAN AMONG US?

IS THERE A MAN AMONG US?

Tom Moore
The Almighty declared, “And I sought for a man among them that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it but I found none” (Ezek 22:30), The Lord is looking for the same type of
- men today—men who will stand in the gap between truth and error, and not allow the church to be destroyed. The great God of heaven is looking for men who will “build the wall” to prevent the infiltration of religious error and the doctrines of men. The question is: Will there any to fulfill this charge?
The Lord is looking for men who will be faithful examples of steadfast church attendance, in leadership, in sound doctrine, in courage, in modest dress, etc. He is looking for men who will be “an example of the believers” (I Tim 4:12). God is looking for those who will be an example of “good works: in doctrine showing uncorniptness, gravity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us” (Tit. 2:7,8). Will the Lord find such a man among us? Are you this kind of man?
The Creator is looking for men who bring up their children “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). He is looking for men who will be the head of the home (Eph. 5:23). and men who will demand that their family be faithful to God (Gen. 18:19), men who will provide fortheir children (I Tim 5:8; 2 Cor. 12:14), and train them to be faithful to Christ and His church.
The Lord is looking for men who will speak “the things which become sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1). In the work-place he will not compromise his God- revealed belie1 to go along with the worldly ways of fellow workers. Rather, he will firmly teach them God’s Way, and in love try to bring them to Christ (Jude 21-23). Will the Lord find this kind of man among us? Are you this kind of man?
God is looking for leaders in His church. He is looking for men who will prepare themselves to be faithful elders in the church 1 Tim 3:1-7), for men who will prepare themselves to be faithful deacons (I Tim 3:8-13), and for men who will prepare themselves to be hold and faithful preachers of the Word of God (2 Tim 2:2). The church needs men who love the church as the beautiful bride of Christ , and who will defend her purity against the worldliness and doctrinal errors that would defile her (Eph. 5:23-32; Jude 3).
David on his deathbed gave his son, Solomon, some very important instructions; he said, “I go the way of all the earth; be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man” (I Kings 2:2). in other words “Be a man!” David then tells Solomon how to be a man: “keep the charge of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinance, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself’ (1 Kings 2:3). If you want to be a real man--Keep the commands of God! Will you prepare yourself to be a real man of God? Will the Lord find a real man of God among us?
