THE BIBLE SPEAKS DAILY (OCTOBER 31st, 2024)

TODAY'S TOPIC: FAITH DICTATES THE CONDITIONS FOR SALVATION. TODAY'S VERSE: Romans 3:21-26. "...But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus..." Mike Willis The Man's need for salvation is clearly taught, and  established in the Bible.  He is guilty of sin and doomed to the eternal punishment for sin — damnation in hell. However, God...

TODAY'S TOPIC:- SO SAD, CHRISTIANS ARE FALLING FROM THE FAITH!  TODAY'S VERSE: 2Corinthians 13:5. "....Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? —unless indeed you fail to meet the test!..." ESV. It is so sad, and disappointing, how some Christians are falling from serving the Lord God. Many professing Christians have also been overtaken in their mistakes, shortcomings and sins. We shall consider some of these reasons, and by doing so, we can avoid the calamity that has befallen others. Some Christians Are Falling Because: 1. They Forget Quickly The Commands Of The Gospel. In becoming Christians we must hear the gospel, believe it, and obey it (Rom. 10:17; Mark 16:16; Heb. 5:9). We are taught that we must thereafter live a life of faithful service unto God. The process of edification informs us of varied duties we must sustain as God's people. Through teachin...

TODAY'S TOPIC:  The Glorious Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. TODAY'S VERSE: EPHESIANS 5:23-32. "...The husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the savior of the body . . . Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish . . . For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and the church..."  In this age, the Church is often considered as outdated and unnecessary.  Therefore, it is good to go back to the language of the inspired Scriptures, to find the value of the Church, the actual value which Jesus Himself plac...

The Gospel Work In Nigeria

Image
The Work In Nigeria Billy Moore NIGERIA. Just hearing the word will immediately get the attention of any U.S. preacher who has ever preached there. The eagerness of the people to hear the Word, the willingness of many to study the Scripture — it was like stepping back in time in the U.S. when people of this nation were searching for truth. From the day in 1949, when two men who learned the truth via a correspondence course and baptized each other, unto the present, Nigeria has been one of the most fertile fields of work and the harvest has been great.  I did not know either of those first two converts, but it was my privilege to meet one of their first converts, E.A. Ekanem who was baptized in 1949 and started the church in his home village of Ntan Ekere, just a few miles from the place where those first two were baptized, and for the next twenty-five years was one of the strong men in the church in eastern Nigeria. Leslie Diestelkamp introduced me to this work back in ...

Important Things To Know About The Lord's Supper

Thoughts About The Lord's Supper One of the acts of worship that we are commanded to perform is partaking of the Lord's Supper. The words of Jesus, "Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me," and, "This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me" (1 Cor. 11:24, 25) emphasize the importance of this supper. Acts 20:7 instructs us as to how often and on what day of the week we are to partake. This action constitutes part of the doctrine of Jesus Christ (2 John 9). Since this is such an important function of our lifes as Christians it is important that we perform it properly and leave no room for misunderstanding on the part of unbelievers. Many times in our worship services we have people attending who are not members of the Body of Christ. It is so very important that these people not be given the wrong impression by our actions and words concerning the Lord's Suppe...

TODAY'S VERSE 1Thessalonians 5:16, 18nkjv. "...Rejoice always, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you..." A Pastor passing through his Church building  In the middle of the day, Decided to pause by the raised elevation  To see who come to pray. Just then the back door opened, And a man came down the aisle, The Pastor frowned as he saw the man, Dirty, hadn't shaved in a while. His shirt was torn and shabby, And his coat was worn and frayed, The man knelt down and bowed his head, Then rose and walked away. In the days that followed at precisely noon, The Pastor saw this man, Each time he knelt just for a moment, A lunch box in his lap. Well, the Pastor’s suspicions grew, With robbery a main fear, He decided to stop and ask the man, 'What are you doing here?' The old man said he was a factory worker And lunch was half an hour Lunchtime was his prayer time, For finding strength and power. I stay only a moment Because the fa...

World Bible School

World Bible School Lowell Blasingame One of the most frequently asked questions by Nigerian brethren is, "What is World Bible School?" Much time and money has been spent there in promoting it for the spread of the gospel. Action, a monthly religious publication founded by Jimmie Lovell and presently edited by Reuel Lemmons, is the voice for WBS. Acdon's masthead includes a figure of the world formed by the words, World Bible School, and within the inset, "Nothing Compares With It In Our World." Our forefathers conceived the American Christian Missionary Society in 1848 in Cincinnati, Ohio and thought they had founded the ultimate for spreading the gospel. Lucien Palmer wrote of the Bible Training College at Ukpom, Nigeria, "We are convinced that it affords the greatest of all opportunities to preach Christ to the 80 million in Nigeria" (World Radio News, Nov.-Dec., 1975). Action says of WBS, "Nothing Compares With It In Our World." Somehow I ...

TODAY'S TOPIC: FAITH DESCRIBES THE CHURCH BUILT BY JESUS CHRIST. TODAY'S VERSE: Matthew 16:18-19. "...And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Church , and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” In the Bible, Jesus said, "I will build my Church." a. We know that He kept this promise because the Church is spoken of as being in existence on the day of the first Pentecost, after the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, described in Acts 2.  b. We know that those who obeyed the Gospel during the apostolic age were added to this Church by the Lord (Acts 2:47).  c. We know that the Epistles were written in order that members of this Church might know how to "behave themselves" in "the Church of the living God" (I Tim. 3:15).  d. We...

ANSWER TO PASTOR DOCTOR ABEL DAMINA

Image
ANSWER TO PASTOR ABEL DAMINA.  (BY,  OLAYEMI ADEYINKA ABRAHAM). Many religions cast doubts on the deity of Jesus. For example, Jehovah's Witnesses claim that Jesus is the first creation of God. Muslims see Jesus as nothing more than a significant prophet, much like Moses. Pastor Dr. Abel Damina claimed Jesus is not God, according to him if we believe Jesus is God we are playing with hell fire. To answer this question tonight, let us turn to the book of John which deals with this important question. John begins his book with this statement, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men" (John 1:1-4). John claims that the Word was both with God and was God. In order to be "with" requires multiple beings; hence, we conclude that God is composed of more th...
