Welcome Address: Bible Preachers' Meeting

Welcome Address:
Bible Preachers' Meeting on the Christian and Politics.

Benson Omole.
Distinguished Bible Preachers, grace and peace be unto you from our Lord Jesus Christ!
It is with profound joy and gratitude that we gather here today in the Meeting Hall of The Church of Christ Ekute Quarters Ado Ekiti, and welcoming you to this important meeting.

As ministers, and stewards of the eternal Word, you have journeyed from near and far to fellowship, pray, and deliberate on this vital intersection: the Christian and politics. Initially, Christianity was pure, and its integrity could be verified from the pages of the Bible, until it was endorsed by Emperor Constantine, of the Roman Empire. The damage which resulted afterwards could be approached in any historical Book.

However, this political endorsement brought mixture of distortions:
1. Genuine faith coexisted with political convenience.
2. Some entered into Christianity for influence, and political patronage without the commanded transformation in the hearts.
3. Man corrupted Christianity by allowing politics into the church; Man took the charge of the church, making policies and rules; Man took the control of the spiritual institution of God!

Today, we live in the World where earthly powers often clash with kingdom principles, your presence today reminds us that "the Most High rules the kingdom of men..." (Daniel 4:32).

We welcome you again, not merely as guests, but as co-laborers in the vineyard of God.

Your voice, and depth of analysis in the Scripture, will illuminate us to how Believers must navigate civic duties with integrity—rendering to Caesar what is Caesar's, but rendering to God, what is God's, while seeking first the kingdom of God (Matthew 22:21; 6:33).

In your deliberation today, please be bold, speak against institutional compromise; cheap political popularity; against the belief that politics is an employment option; against the belief that God did not out-rightly condemn Politics by mentioning it.

Remember, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”. Hebrew 13:8; "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Matt. 16:18.

May the Holy Spirit guide our deliberation this morning, may the Will of God be established in our hearts, and may the Spirit of God foster wisdom, unity, and bold witness, as we engage ourselves in this discussion, Amen.

May the truth of the Gospel remain intact, and may the purity of His Church be preserved, by the Christians of this age, Amen!

Brethren, let us rise for an opening prayer.

Thank you, and God bless you richly.
Benson Omole.
