IS JESUS OF THE BIBLE THE SAME AS ISA OF THE QUR’AN?

IS JESUS OF THE BIBLE THE SAME AS ISA OF THE QUR’AN? (A Deep Comparative Defense.) TEXT: BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. QURAN: Surah 4:157. I. AIMS OF THE LESSON 1. To help the audience understand that the Jesus revealed in the Bible is completely different from the Isa described in the Qur’an. 2. To establish, through Scripture and evidence, the divinity, crucifixion, resurrection, and saving mission of Jesus Christ, contrasting them with the Qur’an’s denial of these truths. 3. To equip Christians with solid apologetic tools for explaining and defending why the Jesus of the gospel is the true Savior of the world, while the Qur’anic Isa represents a different theological figure. II. INTRODUCTION In today’s religious conversations, one of the most important questions is whether the Jesus described in the Bible is the same as the “Isa” described in the Qur’an. Both are said to be born of Mary, both are miracle workers, and both are respected. But respecting two figures does not make them t...

Are You Among False Brethren?

Image
Are You Among False Brethren? Jesus warned us that “false Christs and false prophets” will come and will attempt to deceive even God’s elect (Matthew 24:23–27; 2 Peter 3:3; Jude 1:17–18). To guard against falsehood, false teachers, and Brethren, it’s important to know the truth and know the characteristics of the counterfeit.  Any believer who “correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) and who makes a careful study of the Bible must be able to identify both false Brethren and their doctrines. Jesus said, “A tree is recognized by its fruit” (Matthew 12:33). So, believers are to be fruit inspectors. Knowing the look, texture, and taste of a healthy apple is important. So is knowing the look, texture, and taste—and smell—of a rotten one. Here are three specific tests to apply to any  Christian to determine the accuracy of his or her teaching: 1) What does the Christian say about Jesus?  In Matthew 16:15-16, Jesus asks, “Who do you say I am?” Peter ans...

RETHINKING CHURCH LEADERSHIP: A BIBLICAL LESSON

RETHINKING CHURCH LEADERSHIP:  A BIBLICAL LESSON. Micheal Effiong Udoboho PhD COC Kano, Nigeria.   Introduction. Church leadership must be continually rethought in every generation to ensure alignment with God’s original design, because leadership in the church is not about power, prestige, or personality, but about stewardship, service, and faithfulness to Christ (1 Corinthians 4:1–2). The Bible makes it clear that leadership in God’s house is fundamentally different from leadership in the world, since Christ Himself warned that kingdom leadership operates on a different value system (Matthew 20:25–28). To rethink church leadership is therefore to return to Scripture, recalibrate motives, and realign structures with the mind of Christ (Romans 12:2).  1. Church Leadership Is a Divine Calling, Not a Human Ambition. Biblical leadership begins with God’s call, because no one takes this honor upon himself unless he is called by God, just as Aaron was (Hebrews 5:4). Jesus chos...

PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST!

CAREFULLY SELECTED 55 PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST! 1. The nations will be blessed through Abraham’s lineage Prophecy: “I will bless those who bless you,     and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth     will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3). Fulfillment by Jesus: “And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’ When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways” (Acts 3:25–26). 2. God’s covenant with Isaac’s ancestors Prophecy: “Then God said, ‘Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him’” (Genesis 17:19). Fulfillment  by Jesus : “Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, ‘It is thr...

HOW PEOPLE SHIPWRECK THEIR LIVES IN THIS DIGITAL WORLD

HOW PEOPLE SHIPWRECK THEIR LIVES IN THIS DIGITAL WORLD A Warning and Edification for God’s People . INTRODUCTION : We live in the most connected era in human history, yet people are becoming more isolated, confused, distracted, and spiritually drained. The digital world—phones, apps, screens, platforms, trends—promised convenience, knowledge, and connection.  Instead, countless souls are slowly drifting away from God, family, purpose, and righteousness.  The Bible uses the word “shipwreck” to describe a tragic spiritual collapse (1 Timothy 1:19).  Today, many are shipwrecking their lives through digital habits they don’t even recognize as dangerous.  The danger is not the device itself but how easily it becomes an idol, a substitute for God, a trap of comparison, an open door to sin, or a constant noise drowning God’s voice. This message warns us—members of the Church of Christ—to be sober, disciplined, and spiritually alert in a world seeking to enslave ...

Reasons Why Christians Fail.

One of the great disappointments in the Lord's work is the number of members who decide they will no longer serve God. They just "drop out." They probably did not intend to, but they did. At one time they likely looked with wonderment on the departure of someone else. Now they are victims themselves. They have developed the same harmful attitudes and actions as others, and in the end, they depart the faith with all other apostates. In this article we will consider some of the reasons why Christians do this. And, we are talking about Christians! Perhaps by study we can avoid the calamity that has be-fallen others. Some Christians Fail Because: 1. They forget what they heard. In becoming Christians we must hear the gospel, believe it, and obey it (Rom. 10:17; Mark 16:16; Heb. 5:9). We are taught that we must thereafter live a life of faithful service unto God. The process of edification informs us of varied duties we sustain as God's people. Through teaching, the blessi...

ADMONITION TO THE BRETHREN WHO COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING IN THE 2024/25 PREACHER’S CLASS  OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST, KOLOKO IBADAN. Tit 2:7 "...in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,..." (NKJV). Glory be to God the Almighty for His creative Work, and to Jesus Christ, for the Grace of our redemption, Amen! You were proclaimed Preachers at a time when the integrity of the Church Of Christ, and her Preachers are at stake, though not crucified yet. Only very few are still holding the righteous baton. We now find ourselves robbing the Church purse; loving, and admiring the deep world of politics more than the love of God; practices of adultery and fornication; attitudes of unrighteousness and unfaithfulness; total rejection with reckless abandon, the work and the Word of God. How would you safe yourself, and safe all those who were listening to you, from all these vices? Except you show you...
