ADMONITION TO THE BRETHREN WHO COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING IN THE 2024/25 PREACHER’S CLASS OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST, KOLOKO IBADAN.
Tit 2:7 "...in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,..." (NKJV).
Glory be to God the Almighty for His creative Work, and to Jesus Christ, for the Grace of our redemption, Amen!
You were proclaimed Preachers at a time when the integrity of the Church Of Christ, and her Preachers are at stake, though not crucified yet. Only very few are still holding the righteous baton.
We now find ourselves robbing the Church purse; loving, and admiring the deep world of politics more than the love of God; practices of adultery and fornication; attitudes of unrighteousness and unfaithfulness; total rejection with reckless abandon, the work and the Word of God.
How would you safe yourself, and safe all those who were listening to you, from all these vices? Except you show yourself a pattern of good works, showing reverence to God, the fear of God, preaching pure, and incorruptible doctrine, above all, practice Integrity!
How To Practice Integrity.
1. Personal Discipline: You are called to consistent Bible study, prayer, and reflection to maintain your spiritual health. (1Co 9:27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
2. Fairness and Justice: All people should be treated fairly and equitably. (Eph. 4:31-32 "...Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you…"
3. Truthfulness: Honesty in speech and openness in actions are critical. (John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me; Eph. 4:15, 29) “but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
4. Reliability: This means keeping one’s promises and obligations. (James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” )
5. Moral Courage: The willingness to advocate for what is right, even when it is difficult or risky. (Eph. 6:19 “…and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel”)
6. Humility: A humble attitude that prioritizes service to others over personal ambition or glory. (Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up).
7. Faith: Living the life of faith purifies, and preserves your integrity, individual members, and the Church. (2Cor. 5:7; 2Tim. 2:13; John14:15; 1Cor. 4:2; Rom. 12:1-2)
8. Love: Christian virtue is love. If love is evident in our attitudes, we are confirmed surely as the Assembly of God. (Eph. 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God).
9. Commitments: Commitment to duties, worship, responsibilities, and the commands of the Gospel. (1Cor. 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
10. Contentment: 1Timothy 6:6 (Godliness with contentment is a great gain) for you in the ministry. Do not think that godliness is a means to financial gain, verse 5. Why? 1 Timothy 6:9. "...But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses..."
Conclusion.
