TODAY'S TOPIC: BE "APPROVED IN CHRIST." TODAY'S BIBLE VERSE: 2 Corinthians 10:17-18. "...But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends..." The thought of being approved, and commended  by the Lord Jesus Christ, is very heart warming.  No doubt it is the very thing all lovers of the Lord, want to hear.  Paul wrote to the Romans and singled out one Brother Apelles, who obviously had stood the test of faith, saying,  "Salute Apelles approved in Christ" (Rom. 16:10). We know not what his trial of faith was to have received so favorable an accolade from Paul, but we do give emphasis to the fact that inspiration says he was "...approved in Christ."  Paul further wrote,   a. TODAY'S TOPIC: Will Christ Reign For 1000 Years On The Earth? TODAY'S VERSE: Revelation 20:1-7. "...Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand...But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Vine defines “patience” as “an abiding under.” Thus, patience can be thought of as “uncomplaining endurance.” We are told by the inspired apostle Peter to “add . . . to temperance patience” (2 Pet. 1:6). This grace must be added to our lives if we are going to be successful in living the Christian life. But by so doing, much effort and diligence on our part is required. The so-called patience of some can best be illustrated by the one who prayed: “Lord, give me patience and give it to me right now!” Patience is needed in every phase and aspect of life. It is needed in youth where there is a tendency to be overly zealous and eager; it is needed in adulthood when it is so easy to lose control of the temper; and it is also essential during old age when periods of gloom can be so prevalent.
