James 2:1-4.

Beware Of Personal Favoritism

"My Brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. For if there should come into your Assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?..."

In my 65 years of experience, I have encountered several very wealthy individuals. I have been in the presence of many Celebrities and a few multi-billionaire Businessmen and Politicians.

 I have seen the honor, respect, even the reverence, these individuals seem to command from the society, the masses, and in the churches. 

Many of us may have fallen into this entrapment too.
We seem to have special liking and attraction for the rich and famous, desiring to visit their homes, wanting to know about their personal lives, following them on social media, while we sometimes ignore the poor and drive-by the needy and the homeless, in our churches, and in the larger society!

God makes no distinctions with people in regard to material wealth, or financial stature. He loves us all the same, unconditionally.

 God loves His children because of who we are, not because of what we’re worth, and He wants us to do exactly the same. 
Read, John 13:34-35: "...A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another..."

Today’s Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, please forgive us our missteps, help us to look at others just like You do, without regard to wealth, status, or popularity. Help us not to make distinctions about others, and help us to simply love (agape) them, as You would have loved them.
Kindly heal the Sick, and provide for those in need, around us. 

Amen!
