IS JESUS REALLY GOD?

“IS JESUS REALLY GOD?”
John 5:19-26

1. Equal in working: (verse 19)
"What things soever He (the Father) doeth, these the Son doeth in like manner".
2. Equal in knowing: (verse 20)
"For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth Him all things that Himself doeth".
3. Equal in resurrecting: (verse 21; see also verses 28-30)
"For as the Father raiseth the dead... even so the Son giveth life to whom He will".
4. Equal in judging: (verse 22; see also verse 27)
"For neither doth the Father judge any man but He hath given all judgment unto the Son".
5. Equal in honor: (verse 23)
"That all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent Him".
6. Equal in regenerating: (verses 24-25)
"He that heareth my word and believeth Him that sent me... hath passed out of darkness into life".
7. Equal in self-existence: (verse 26)
"For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave He the Son also to have life in Himself".
   Who can read claims like these without seeing in them the assumptions of such oneness with the eternal Father as betokens essential equality. The Jewish leaders rightly enough understood His claims, and John would have us clearly understand them too.
